So, every few months we like to take some time out to talk a little about one of our sessions we host throughout term time, and shed some light on all of the amazing things it entails.
Today, we are talking about our Wednesday session, Inclusive Sports Hub.
At this much loved session, we have so many different activities on offer for our children and young people with SEND. Such as arts and crafts, seasonal activities, indoor and outdoor games, sports, team building and more.
We also ensure that we have some food on offer, and encourage the children and young people to get involved in the kitchen to develop a sense of responsibility and belonging. It is also important to us to ensure that each child who attends gets a home-cooked, healthy, warm meal. We believe that this can take some strain off the parents and carers of our participants during the cost of living crisis, and we understand that the cost of meals can be a struggle.
The idea for this session originated from the concept of a winter warm hub, which provides a space in the community to warm up if you are struggling to heat your home. So in the colder months, we can always guarantee that the space will be heated and warm. However, we have decided to take it into the hotter months, whilst still providing food, as well as a secure and inclusive form of respite.
This is one of our term time sessions, so it runs after school every Wednesday when term time is on. However, during the holidays and half term, this session will take a hiatus just to give our workers a little break!
