October is the official month of disability employment, and we would love to chat a little bit about what we are doing to celebrate it.
So, what are we doing to celebrate this month?
Well… we’re not doing anything special at all!
Why? Because we treat every single month like it’s disability employment month.
We have a year-long scheme that offers workplace opportunities to participants and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. There are a few different options to this scheme.
For example, progression from participant to volunteer. So, if you have been coming to our sessions, got to know our staff, procedures and locations… There is the option to progress into a volunteer role. Alternatively, you could have never attended our services at all to come along and volunteer with us.
To get involved with this, all you have to do is send an email over to andy@iinclusivesportsacademy.org, expressing your interest or alternatively if you come along to our sessions- please simply ask a member of staff.
Age guidelines are all dependent on your personal needs, however we usually start our volunteering scheme from the age of 16 years old- but we can take younger individuals depending on their personal circumstances.
We will ensure to assess and discuss any support that you need, and will put a plan in place in order to make the most of your experience volunteering with us. Like everything we do at Inclusive Sports, we are person centred and do everything we can to make sure you are comfortable and confident.
If you are successful with volunteering, we also offer plenty of opportunities for you to grow within your role which can lead onto permanent, paid employment. We are also open to writing character references for future workplace endeavours, as well as support with building your CV.
