Young Person Spotlight

We have so many wonderful participants that come through our doors every single day, who get such amazing things out of our services. So today, we would like to shine a light on one individual who has made amazing progress since joining our services.

So, who is the young person and what services do they access?

“This young person attends MAPA on a Tuesday and Inclusive Families on a Monday. Until very recently he has regularly attended Inclusive Gaming on a Thursday, however his school has offered him some football coaching which he really enjoys with his school peers so he now attends that. They are very outgoing but sometimes can get overstimulated and will need time out to self-regulate which he is good at achieving in a quieter environment.”

Of course, we like to let parents and carers know that we do not only work to help their loved one, but we have their own needs in mind- and our sessions can actually work as a much needed form of respite. The individual’s parent shared this statement with us when

discussing their involvement with our services:

“Mum is very happy with (participants name retracted*)’s involvement with Inclusive Sports both for after school activities and in the school holidays. She is also very grateful for the support that the CIC is able to give her as well as she is struggling.”

Here we have produced a little scale on how the young person is developing in different areas of their life: (1 being the best and 10 being the worst)

Socialising: 3

Behaviour: 5

Communication: 2

These results are based on their monitored behaviour since they have started attending our sessions. As you can see, our sessions can help improve in multiple areas, and we couldn’t be prouder of their development!

Do you have a loved one’s success story you would like to be featured on our Inclusive Sports blog page? Why not get in touch with caitlin@inclusivesportsacademy.org and we will showcase all of the wonderful things your loved one has learned to our audience!

*The identity of the participant featured in this blog has been hidden for their safety and privacy, we will never ever share names, ages or schools of any individuals who attend our services, even with parental permission.
